Competitor Information
REGISTRATION DESK AND LANYARDS
The Registration Desk will be located at the Ticket Desk in the INEC on Thursday from 5-7pm and on Friday from 10 am to 6 pm.
We would ask that, if possible, each chorus appoint one person to collect ID badges and lanyards for your chorus/quartet and distribute to your members. Where possible no individual badges will be given out from a chorus batch with the exception of quartets arriving before the general group.
WEEKEND PROGRAMME
The weekend programme will be updated on the website - please check back as last minute changes may occur.
We will also have a mobile-friendly version which you can access on your phone over the weekend.
PHOTOGRAPHY and VIDEOGRAPHY
Videos and photographs will be taken by the professional team at the convention. They will be made available to all competitors in the weeks following convention. Please note that no other photography or recording of any kind is permitted in the venue.
Photographs will be taken during your performance, and one static picture before you leave the stage. The lights will not be dimmed between each group.
There will not be any livestream from the convention, we will instead circulate the videos in the weeks following convention - please allow our small team time to get all the performances ready for you!
REHEARSAL ROOMS, DRESSING ROOMS AND WARM-UP ROOMS
All groups are expected to arrive ready for stage, there are no changing facilities available in the INEC. Please note the INEC is part of the Gleneagle hotel, so residents of the hotel may avail of their own rooms.
Choruses are assigned a warm up room twenty minutes prior to stage time. Please note these will not have risers. Toilets are available near these warm up rooms.
If you wish to book your own rehearsal room in advance of your allocated time, please contact the hotel directly by emailing [email protected].
Please bring minimal belongings to the rehearsal rooms and side stage. The organisers and the hotel can take no responsibility for belongings left in the side stage or rehearsal room areas. Any items are left at the owners risk.
PERFORMERS’ ACCESS TO AUDITORIUM
Competitors will arrive and line up in in an area outside auditorium 10 minutes prior to your appointed time and will be directed onstage from stage left and will exit stage from stage right.
Should some of your members need to use a ramp to enter the stage, please note that our ramp begins beside the stairs on stage left and enters the stage level on the stage right side of the stage. People using the ramp will enter and exit the same way.
Quartets will be announced before entering the stage.
Choruses may choose to be announced before entering the stage which will mean judging will start once your chorus is announced. Please notify the Convention Team on [email protected] if this is your choice no later than 30 September, otherwise we will assume you to be in place on stage before being announced when judging will commence.
ENTRANCE TO THE AUDITORIUM DURING COMPETITION AND CONCERTS
As always, competitors will be permitted into the auditorium ONLY with your ID badge between performances. Please follow door stewards’ instructions.
PRIZES
All award winners will be presented with an award at the end of the Contests. Medals are also awarded. Please note that for award winning choruses, only one medal is provided (to the Director). For other chorus members who may wish to get a souvenir medal, they will be available to purchase after the awards are given out at a cost of €2. A sales table will be set up in the lobby of the INEC.
Also, IABS Perpetual trophies may not be taken outside the island of Ireland. A glass replica trophy will be given in each category.
