Aloysius Aces
The Aloysius Aces are the newest barbershop chorus in St Aloysius College in Carrigtwohill CoCork. 2018 began the collaboration between IABS and the graduate class of 2020. Barbershop singing has gone from strength to strength in the school culminating in our attendance at Midwinter in New York in January 2024. This was such an enriching experience for our students and they felt confident enough to start some new quartets. The experience also shook up our approach to things which naturally led to the discussion of having a junior chorus in the school. Singing in 3 & 4 part harmony gives our members the opportunity to develop their performance experience, vocal technique and musicianship skills but above all to have fun and make friends in a safe space. This chorus comprises students in first year who have joined the school a number of weeks ago and our second and third year students. As always we couldn’t be prouder of our girls and how they share their talent!
