Welcome to Killarney!
Dear Friends,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome our members, guests and visitors to Killarney for the IABS 2023 Convention. Killarney has played host to us before so we know it is a special place. We hope that by the end of the weekend, you'll have brilliant memories to bring with you!
We have a jam-packed schedule for you all, and the programme is available online all weekend. Please check back in case there may be amendments or changes. The competitions will run on Friday and Saturday, after which we will have a Gala Concert with prize winners and performances from guest choruses and quartets. On Sunday, we will take the opportunity to have some masterclass education before parting ways.
It can be hard to peel yourself away from the Barbershop Bubble that is the INEC for the duration of our convention, but if you get a chance, click here for some recommendations of things to do while you are in Killarney.
I want to extend my deep gratitude to the IABS Board, the Convention Team, our Panel of Judges and Chair of Judges, Catherine Lyons, and the CA volunteers working alongside her. I also wish to show my appreciation for our stage management and tech team on sound, photography and videography, for all their work and dedication. We are very fortunate to have the support of Kerry Tourism and the Kerry Convention Bureau, whose work helps make Killarney such a vibrant and fun place to visit. Our convention weekend wouldn't be possible without the help of the many volunteers assisting behind the scenes, and I want to thank you and the staff of the INEC for everything you do to make the weekend run smoothly!
Finally, I'd like to thank all of our members and visitors who have travelled here to compete or support, and to wish everyone who crosses the stage the very best of luck in your performances, it promises to be an exciting and entertaining weekend! I hope to meet as many of you as I can, please say hello!
